Attorneys - About R. James Amaro

R. James Amaro gained a wide breadth and invaluable work experience working at some of the largest national and state based law firms prior to founding the Amaro Law Firm. In his career, Mr. Amaro has worked for a Federal Judge and for many defense law firms which gave him the perspective to handle his cases efficiently and effectively.

Since being founded, the Amaro Law Firm has recovered several millions of dollars for its clients who have been injured in auto accidents, trucking accidents, maritime accidents, construction accidents, employment disputes, work-related injuries, and insurance disputes. We have represented individuals badly injured in all types of accidents caused by negligent or reckless conduct. In our representation, we investigate claims to prove the wrongful conduct and damages such as medical bills, lost wages, impairment, disfigurement, mental anguish, and pain and suffering. If the negligent parties refuse to accept responsibility for our clients' injuries and damages we initiate lawsuits and aggressively work to prove our clients' claims and obtain verdicts or settlements.

Mr. Amaro gained valuable experiences prior to founding the Amaro Law Firm. In the beginning of his legal career, Mr. Amaro was an aggressive defense attorney with a Houston insurance defense firm where he learned the "insurance game." As a defense attorney, Mr. Amaro practiced in the areas of insurance coverage and defending clients in the areas of construction law, real estate law, toxic torts, products liability, commercial litigation and arbitration, personal injury and wrongful death.

In law school, Mr. Amaro was writing Federal opinions for a Federal Judge and drafting legal briefs for a prominent Plaintiffs' attorney. Also while in law school, Mr. Amaro served as the Managing Editor of the Wisconsin International Law Journal and was awarded the Mary A. Quackenbush Memorial Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Wisconsin International Law Journal.

Through this experience, Mr. Amaro has learned how the judicial system perceives claims and the common strategies of insurance defense law firms and the insurance companies that pay them.
